The spoon!! Ha!
-- That's an original Curt Quote, my friend.
- A comparison:
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I
came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." -Jesus
Christ
"We love death." -Osama bin Laden
And just to drive home the
point a step further:
"And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and
men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." -Jesus
Christ
- "My concern is that he's in the mainstream..."
-An exact quote from CNN interview (11 January 2006) of Diane
Feinstein, regarding Judge Alito.
(OK, she probably meant to portray 'the mainstream' as where she is and
where she, in her righteous purity, ostensibly hopes but in fact
doubts, that Alito is, too. BUT, the immediate ambiguity of her choice
of words is, to say the least, humorous.)

[During a protest outside the
stadium at President Bush's graduation address at Oklahoma State
University, 6 May 2006:]
"If he's coming to my town, I'm going to let him know he's
not welcome here and that Oklahomans are not as bright as they think."
- Laurie Keeley, 25, a protester from Tulsa.
- A Frenchman, an Italian, and a Dutchman are all living in
Jerusalem and attending Hebrew language class together. After class one
day, they decide to go to lunch together.
QUESTION: As they walk out the door from class toward
their lunch destination, in which language do they speak?
ANSWER: They speak English, of course!
(As you may have guessed, this
was a real incident, not just a fictional joke.)

The Pope (mid-September 2006): Hey, this guy
back in the 14th century pointed out that Muhammed himself encouraged
his followers to spread Islam by using the sword.
Muslims: What?? How dare you imply that Islam is violent!
If you don't apologize right now, we'll burn churches (more than we
just did) and kill nuns (more than we just did) and maybe even kill
you.
(I mean, hey, I'm not a big fan
of the Pope. But it's nice when somebody actually speaks the
truth in public.)
- "How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism
lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as
dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful
fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries.
Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods
of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of
the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of
its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The
fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his
absolute property (either as a child, a wife, or a concubine) must
delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has
ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show
splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of
the Queen; all know how to die; but the influence of the religion
paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger
retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund,
Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already
spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every
step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms
of science (the science against which it had vainly struggled) the
civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of
ancient Rome."
-Winston S. Churchill (1899)

"No, I don't have a MySpace
account." -- RanonymousS
-
"It's a poor man's John Williams ... probably Tchaikovsky
or something." -- Ethan K.
- There are only 10 kinds of people in the world: those who
know binary, and those who don't.
