Budefescht (or Budenfest):

Every year, in conjunction with a horse show at the “fairgrounds” at the south end of town, Kandern transforms its main plaza into a series of food booths. All the local clubs have their fundraising food specialties. There’s the town choir, the local wrestling club, the local Beelzebul club, the local witches coven – you know, all the sundry clubs in town.

It seems to be, for the most part, OK. Just food booths for local cultural clubs. Great. EEEExxxxcept for those two “clubs” mentioned above. And except for the fact that people rather tend to use it as an excuse to stay up really late and drink themselves foolish.
